Multilingual and multicultural managers’ effects on team performance: insights from professional football teams

Purpose In this study, micro-foundations of strategy as the theoretical framework to study effect managers’ individual characteristics on multinational team performance are adopted. particular, purpose paper is multilingual communication abilities and multicultural background, their role in, respectively, effectively reconfiguring human assets sensing cognitively distant opportunities threats. Design/methodology/approach This uses national football teams competing in international competitions coaches’ data set test theory. Using random coefficient modeling ordinary least square regression, analyzes two samples 222 79 found that both these contribute performance; however, effects differ depending environment.
